How to make the /ð/ and /θ/ sounds:
Yes, you need to stick your tongue out.
Both the /ð/ and /θ/ sounds in English are spelled “th”. Place the tip of the tongue lightly on bottom of the two top front teeth (it NEEDS to protrude just a little). For the unvoiced /θ/, simply blow air between the teeth and the tongue. For the voiced /ð/, blow air while using the vocal cords.

It was my mother’s fiftieth birthday and no one had a gift—not me, not my brother, nor my father, so we went shopping together. I bought bath salts, my brother bought lotion for smooth skin, and my father got her a feather pillow. Thursday was the big day and we cleaned the whole house, especially the bathtub. My mother was thrilled and said many thanks—I think she was truly thankful, especially for the clean bathtub. My brother and I made her a birthday cake, and then the first thing she did after was bathe in the bath salts and then smooth on the lotion. That night she went to sleep with her new feather pillow.
